About Strikes for Cancer

It started one day from an idea of an avid six year old bowler in 2009, who one day, while playing with his bowling set at home went to his mom and suggested to have a "Cancer Bowling Event".  Jaden was already familiar that cancer was bad, as one day it was explained that one of his neighbours was being treated for cancer.

His persistence with this idea to his parents meant that he was going to need to put a lot of effort into this to make this happen.  His idea, when suggested to the management of St. Albert Bowling Centre, was immediately embraced, and the first annual event was held in May, 2009.

Two years later, and with over $20,000 already contributed to Canadian Cancer Society, his sights are set higher.  Jaden has set his goal to raise $15,000 this year, and will have a personal incentive to reach this in memory of his grandfather, who recently succumbed to lung cancer.

The Strikes for Cancer Bowling event, this year to be held on Sunday, May 15 from 10 am to 2 pm at St. Albert Bowling Centre, will feature special games, activities, and food and refreshments and can be enjoyed by people of all ages and bowling experience.
